Business Startups
For those of you thinking of starting a business, I charge a small consulting fee ($100.00) to review your business plan. My idea is that you may have a good idea for a business but may not be aware of the legal and regulatory problems ahead of you. It is better to have me look over your idea and catch these problems before you start your business.
I also will help you choose and set up the entity you want to run your business. Generally, the choice is between a limited liability company (LLC) or corporation.
I charge $1,000.00 to set up a corporation. This includes meeting with you, preparing the Articles of Incorporation for the Secretary of State, preparing the by-laws, and attending the meeting of incorporators/first shareholders meeting.
I charge $2,000.00 to set up a LLC. The membership agreement is more detailed to your specifics than a corporation and requires more detailed work. There will also be Articles to file with the Secretary of State and meetings with you.
I do vary these fees. If you have draft by-laws or a draft LLC agreement, I will charge my hourly rate to tailor these to Indiana law.
